The purpose of Anchor Ministries is to glorify God by
ministering in the grace of God and by the leadership of His Holy Spirit guide
people to the multi-dimensional hope of Jesus Christ as revealed in Holy
Scripture.
The good news of God provides us with principles for living an
abundant life by knowing Jesus and growing in His likeness. Every facet of
this ministry seeks to practice and proclaim this Gospel that all who hear may
know God's best in life. A variety of programs are utilized in this
ministry to make application of God's truth in realistic areas of our
lives.
A major target of this ministry is the family. A survey by a leading family magazine showed that 71 % of those
responding felt family life in America is in trouble! Another study by a
Christian psychiatrist found that 75% of those married considered their marriage
a failure and rated their home as unhappy. Let's face it. Marriages
and families need help. And this is apparent in our churches. A
spiritual awakening is desperately needed. And this needs to begin within
our homes.
Howard Hendricks in his book Heaven Help the Home
says that "We are
surrounded by foreign, hostile, and home-shattering influences in our world
today. The supportive elements of society no longer feed and shade
us. The Christian home must blossom in a field of weeds."
However, he remarks, "Society depends on the family." And of all
things Christianity and the church needs the family. But, we need a
renewed family, a family built upon the foundation of God.
Hendricks tells about Richard Baxter, an outstanding man of God who became pastor
of a very wealthy and sophisticated church. For three years he preached
with all the passion of his heart, but he saw no visible response.
Finally, one day he fell to the floor of his study and cried out, "O God,
You must do something with these people or I'll die!" He said,
"It was as if God spoke to me audibly, 'Baxter, you are working in the
wrong place. You're expecting revival to come through the church.
Try
the home.'"
Baxter began concentrating on the families in his church and community. He
helped families discover truth from God's Word. Finally, the Holy Spirit
started to light revival fires among the members of his congregation until they
swept through the church.
Howard Hendricks said, "perhaps God is saying to us, 'You're working in the
wrong place.' Ask God to bring revival in your home. If He does,
I'll guarantee it will infect the church...."
This ministry would like to help light revival fires in

will call upon God will discover that the Holy Spirit of God will do wonderful,
amazing, miraculous things. We can have "heaven" in our
lives. The heart of this ministry is in family revival by knowing Jesus
Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and making Him known that all might
discover His meaningful and wonderful life.
