Dr. Franklin M. Biles
Franklin was born in Fort Pierce,
Florida. He attended public schools in that city and graduated from Dan
McCarty High School in 1958. He is a 1968 graduate of the University of
Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Psychology. In
1971 he received the Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary. Then he received the Doctor of Ministry degree from
Biola University with a specialty in marriage and family. The research for
his doctoral dissertation entitled "A Marriage Seminar To Facilitate
Marital Satisfaction of Newlyweds" has been the basis for his book entitled
Survival Guide For Marriage.
The ministry of Franklin with Anchor Ministries includes
preaching revival meetings, teaching evangelism and discipleship seminars,
marriage and family seminars, and Prepare/Enrich Workshops to train and certify
ministers and counselors to use a diagnostic inventory for evaluating
relationships of couples preparing for marriage and married couples. He
has a unique ministry of counseling with ministers and their families.
Dr. Biles began his ministry as a pastor in 1965. During
his forty plus years of ministry he has pastored nine churches in Texas. Since 1992 he has concentrated on family revival.
The former Sandy Kay Schmidt and Franklin met while attending
the University of Houston. They were married in 1965. Sandy
retired from teaching school and now serves as Chaplain in a prison for women. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degree
in music and is an accomplished soloist. She is available for
concerts. They have
three sons and eight grandchildren. Danny is married to Mandy. They have two girls and two boys. Danny is an engineer.
They live in Texas. Andy is married to Kathryn.
They have two sons. Andy is a minister of music. They live in Texas. Stephen is married to Jamie.
They have two sons. Stephen is an agronomist/entomologist, and they live in
Texas.
Franklin has served a total of 34 years in the U.S. Army National
Guard, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force Reserve. He was an Aviation
Electricians Mate Second Class with the Navy. He has served for 28 years
as a Chaplain in the Air Force. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant
Colonel.
Family revival is a priority concern of Franklin. He
shares Biblical principles of marriage and family renewal through family
revivals, rallies, seminars and retreats, and marriage and family counseling. He
is eager to speak wherever invited to address the critical
issues of the family.
